Dear Fellow Participants and Supporters of SORTIE.... As you know, it is the protections guaranteed by the General Plan and the AV Area Plan which provided the basis for successfully disputing the Panda Project. There is no doubt that the General Plan and the AV Area Plan are the most important documents in our struggle to protect our rural lifestyle. As many of you know, the County is revising the both the General Plan and the AV Area Plan, and we need to make sure these protections remain intact (and hopefully strengthened). As part of the plan amendment process, staff is requesting comments on their "Concerns and Opportunities" document which will ultimately provide the basis of the AV General Plan. I just received this document and have published it on this website for everyone to read. I urge you all to read it and provide comments to Mitch Glaser of Department of Regional Planning [DRP]. Mitch is a reasonable man who seems to genuinely "get" our situation. I want to make sure he has what he needs to preserve Acton's lifestyle throughout the next 3 decades, so please take some time to read, review, and comment. | CLICK HERE TO READ the Motion made by Supervisor Antonovich on November 20 which was unanimously approved by the entire Board of Supervisors. It appears that this will provide a means for preserving Acton's rural profile for the near future, and it is a direct result of your perseverance and dedication. There is still a lot of work to do on this issue, but until we hear back from the Department of Regional Planning, we will have to sit tight. As soon as anything new comes out, we will communicate it. Happy Holidays!!!!! |
